These are hopefully very basic and easy to understand. Please follow these or I will gladly remove you from the forum/give you a stern talking to. I assure you, and take it from those who know me, you would not like for me to confront you.
Some basic things every user has to do when registering:
Your rights as a user:
And that's about it! Please enjoy your time here!
- BE RESPECTFUL TO OTHERS ON THIS FORUM. I'm sorry to inform you, but you're not a special snowflake on here. You're just like everyone else and we stick together and HELP each other. Putting others down or being disrespectful to others is intolerable, no exceptions. If I see any cases of disrespect or berating on this forum, the provoker will be removed. No exceptions.
- If there is an issue on the forum, you're free to check out the moderators section and suggest something OR you can PM a moderator. Please come to one of us before you make a big fuss or make the issue bigger than it is. If you feel you're being treated unfairly, and I admit I can be a rather harsh authoritative figure, please come talk to me directly.
- English is the primary language used here. However, please don't fret because this is a place of no judgment (refer to rule 1). Even if you're not confident in your English, we wholeheartedly encourage you to be open and speak in it for my sake and also as an opportunity to learn. Remember, we're here to help you, not degrade you.
- Avoid caps and spam. I will count ALL caps posts as spam. It's also completely unnecessary and quite annoying as well as unprofessional. Leave the yelling at each other for the group chat.
- Avoid using red text as well. Red text can be very harmful to the eyes and it's also an irritating colour in general. If you make an edit or something is very important, you may use red and/or caps, but please avoid these things as best you can.
- If you have something to say about staff, whether it be a report of misconduct or just flaming, bring it up with us. We don't and won't waste our time with people complaining about mundane things on our forum and at least if you PM me, we can have a private flame war, so no one sees you get embarrassed. But really, please be respectful to staff. We do a lot to make sure this forum is safe and secure. At least have the gratefulness to respect us.
- NO CALL OUT POSTS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! This causes anxiety and paranoia and we don't want to seem immature. IF there is a user who needs to be reported, bring it up with me and I'll investigate. If I deem the situation serious enough, I'll make a post, but most of the time, I'll more than likely just warn or delete them.
- You are entitled to your beliefs and opinions and you are completely, unapologetically allowed to talk about those beliefs. So long as you're not harming others or degrading anyone else, I wholeheartedly encourage you expressing yourself through worship or sharing information/opinions. I really do not mind!
Some basic things every user has to do when registering:
- Please add your Skype to your profile, so I can add you to the group. I will automatically PM you, so I can get permission to add you.
- Please read the rules and introductions and all that. Get to know the forum before you go exploring.
- PLEASE introduce yourself! Say hello!
- Tell me what language you're studying or want to learn and I will add it to the 'Languages' section of the forum. That's all!
Your rights as a user:
- You're allowed to decline being part of the group chat. If you don't like me having your Skype, I will need you to agree to letting me message you on here.
- You're allowed to express yourself and speak up for yourself, just know when the time to add a mod comes!
- You're entitled to your beliefs, religion, and you're very much allowed to open debates. Just be respectful of others.
- The information sub-board in every Language board isn't just limited to info on the language-you can also put info on the Country of Origin, the people, etc. Anything that pertains to the language or language speakers is okay to post. I am very, VERY lenient about these things.
And that's about it! Please enjoy your time here!
